Cardi B Sued for Assault After Microphone-Throwing Incident at Las Vegas Concert

Cardi B confirms sophomore album set for 2025 release

Rap superstar Cardi B is facing a civil lawsuit from an anonymous woman who claims she was injured during a viral microphone-throwing incident that took place two years ago at Drai’s Las Vegas.

The lawsuit, filed by a woman identified only as “Jane Doe,” accuses Cardi (real name Belcalis Almanzar) of assault, battery, and infliction of emotional distress after she allegedly struck the fan with a microphone during her performance.

The incident, which made headlines worldwide, occurred after someone in the crowd threw water at the rapper during a performance.

In response, Cardi hurled her microphone into the audience — an act that was caught on camera and quickly went viral.

Although the Bronx-born GRAMMY winner was cleared of criminal battery charges at the time, Jane Doe claims she was the one hit by the mic and is now pursuing civil damages. According to her complaint, she was simply responding to Cardi’s earlier request for water to be splashed on her — a moment that was visible in the concert footage.
