Arsenal Football Club have completed the signing of Christian Norgaard from Brentford, in a move that strengthens the Gunners’ midfield ahead of the new season.
The 31-year-old Denmark international joins Mikel Arteta’s side after six impressive years with Brentford, where he made 196 appearances, including 122 Premier League games, scoring 13 goals and registering 18 assists.
Norgaard will wear the No. 16 shirt and has already reported for pre-season training with his new teammates. The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory procedures.
From Denmark to the Premier League
Norgaard started his career at Lyngby in Denmark before moving to Hamburg and then Brøndby, where he truly made his mark. He was named Brøndby’s Player of the Year in 2017 and won the Danish Cup in the 2017/18 season.
A short stint at Fiorentina followed in Serie A, before he joined Brentford in 2019. At the Bees, Norgaard played a crucial role in their promotion to the Premier League and was appointed club captain in 2023. He ended the 2023/24 season with a career-best six goals.
International Career
Norgaard has earned 35 caps for Denmark, having made his senior debut in 2020 in a goalless draw against England. He was also part of the Danish squad at UEFA Euro 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
