Popular social media activist Verydarkman (VDM) has been barred by the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyanya, from making any public statements or commentary regarding Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin.
The interlocutory injunction, issued by Justice A.Y. Shafa, follows the dismissal of VDM’s preliminary objections challenging the defamation suit filed by Prophet Fufeyin. The ruling marks a significant turn in the ongoing legal dispute between the two parties.
According to Prophet Fufeyin’s lawyer, Ihensekhien Samuel, the court granted a full restraining order, directing Verydarkman to maintain the status quo ante bellum—effectively stopping him from making any further allegedly defamatory remarks until the case is fully determined.
“The FCT High Court today in two court rulings against Verydarkman dismissed all preliminary objections filed by him and instead granted a complete interlocutory order… until the final determination of the suit,” Samuel said in a statement.
The case stems from VDM’s persistent online allegations against Prophet Fufeyin, founder of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, which the cleric claims have harmed his reputation.
Earlier in April, it was reported that Verydarkman had agreed not to publish any further content related to the matter pending the court’s ruling. The initial judgment was scheduled for July 2, but developments were only made public following Thursday’s resumed session.
The latest ruling now formally restricts Verydarkman from addressing the issue publicly until the final judgment is delivered—signaling a major win for Prophet Fufeyin’s legal team.
