Former U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed delight over Chelsea’s dominant performance against Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final, held on Sunday night at the MetLife Stadium in the United States.
Speaking to DAZN Football during half-time, Trump said he was thoroughly enjoying the match, which saw Chelsea take a commanding 3-0 lead in the first half thanks to a brace from Cole Palmer and a goal from Joao Pedro.
“I’m having a really great time,” Trump told DAZN.
“This is a tremendous sport,” he added, praising the spectacle on display.
The Republican politician, known for his past appearances at sporting events, was among the high-profile figures in attendance.
The match ultimately ended with Chelsea holding onto their 3-0 lead, securing a comprehensive victory over the French champions and lifting the Club World Cup title.
