Drake set the internet ablaze during his second headlining night at the Wireless Festival in London, using the occasion to throw pointed jabs at longtime rival Kendrick Lamar — both figuratively and literally.
Taking the stage under the Wireless-branded set titled “Drake & The Mandem,” the Canadian rapper brought out a star-studded lineup of UK artists, including Central Cee, J Hus, and Dave, in what he described as his second of three unique headline performances.
“Three nights headlining, three different sets, three different vibes. Name another artist that can do that and bring him up here and we can clash right now,” Drake challenged mid-performance.
The crowd erupted, instantly breaking into a chant of “f* Kendrick!**” — prompting Drake to remove his headset just to soak in the moment. Afterward, he made a toast.
“Chubbs, grab me a shot, I’ll drink to that,” he said, raising a glass with the crowd before launching into his next track, “NOKIA.”
Drake then posed a rhetorical question to the crowd:
“Y’all thought y’all could knock The Boy off for real?”
The answer was a thunderous “no.”
Ongoing Feud With Kendrick Lamar
The public diss marks another escalation in the longstanding feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar — one that reignited in 2024 after Kendrick’s scathing diss “Not Like Us.” The track not only dominated the airwaves but also led to a defamation lawsuit filed by Drake against Universal Music Group, a legal battle that remains unresolved.
While Drake kept things cool during Night 1 of the festival — where he brought out PARTYNEXTDOOR, Bryson Tiller, Mario, Bobby V, and Lauryn Hill — it was during the second night that he seized the opportunity to clap back, especially after fans set the tone.
Looking Ahead
The third and final night of Wireless Festival promises even more star power, with performances expected from Burna Boy, Vybz Kartel, and other yet-to-be-revealed guests.
After Wireless, Drake is set to continue his “Some Special Shows 4 U” European tour with PARTYNEXTDOOR, marking his first Europe shows since 2019. The tour is expected to run until September 23, and fans are hopeful it will include more teases of his highly anticipated ninth studio album, ICEMAN.
If Drizzy ‘s Wireless performance is anything to go by, he’s not done making noise — both in music and in beef.
