GloRilla Speaks Out After Arrest, Claims Focus Should Be on Home Invasion — Not Cannabis

GloRilla

GloRilla has broken her silence just hours after her July 2 arrest in Georgia made headlines and her mugshot went viral online.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Memphis rapper addressed the incident in a post that has since garnered over 17,000 likes, revealing that her home was burglarized while she was out of town—and yet, she’s the one facing criminal charges.

“CRAZY‼️ My house got home invaded Saturday while I was in Indianapolis performing for the WNBA All-Star Game. And instead of focusing on finding the suspects, they focus on some cannabis,” she wrote.

GloRilla clarified three key points in her now-viral post:

  1. She wasn’t “busted” or caught in the act.

  2. Her house was robbed while she was away.

  3. She wasn’t home at the time of the incident.

“Long story short: my house gets home invaded and I’m the only one that gets arrested. So that’s tea 🤷🏼‍♀️,” she concluded.

Legal Team Pushes Back

Prior to her statement, GloRilla’s legal team also condemned the charges, calling them unjust and emphasizing that she was not present when the alleged possession occurred.

Despite her absence, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office charged her with felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of marijuana over one ounce. She was later released on a $22,000 bond.

Repeat Run-In with Georgia Law Enforcement

This marks the rapper’s second legal incident in Georgia in less than a year. In April 2024, GloRilla was arrested for DUI after allegedly making an illegal U-turn at a red light. Body cam footage of that encounter later circulated online, adding to her growing list of public controversies.
