Milkshake, the social media user who recently stirred controversy with allegations tied to Afrobeats star Davido, has now denied ever mentioning the singer’s name in her viral posts.
The saga began when Milkshake made sensational claims on social media, accusing an alleged mistress named Jessie Awazie of having a romantic relationship with a famous artist — just a month before his wedding. She alleged that the unnamed artist paid ₦25 million to bury a sex tape, pampered Jessie with luxury hotels, gifted her a Birkin bag, and supported her business with $20,000.
Milkshake’s posts went viral, with online users speculating that the accusations were aimed at Davido. The controversy intensified after she linked Jessie to other public figures including Burna Boy, Zoro, and Shina Peller, suggesting they all get tested.
However, in a dramatic reversal on Snapchat, Milkshake distanced herself from the Davido narrative, claiming she never mentioned his name and that her rants were misunderstood.
“It’s crazy how far this has gone! I never mentioned Davido. Jessie just has enemies waiting to drag her down. My posts were about what she did to me personally,” she explained.
She alleged that the entire saga was a result of a personal dispute with Jessie, whom she accused of insulting her and refusing to refund money owed.
Milkshake also claimed her social media account was hijacked:
“Please, I’m not the one posting from this account anymore! I let someone in to plead on my behalf, and they blocked me. I’ve been getting threats. This isn’t me anymore!”
She concluded by denying any intention to post anonymously:
“I’m not a coward. If I had something to say, I would’ve said it with my real account from the beginning.”
The backpedal has left social media users divided, with many questioning the truth behind her initial claims.
