Official: Mohammed Kudus Joins Tottenham Hotspur in £55 Million Deal from West Ham

Mohammed Kudus Joins Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur have officially completed the signing of Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus from Ajax in a high-profile transfer worth approximately £55 million.

The 24-year-old midfielder has penned a six-year contract with the North London side, becoming Spurs’ first direct signing from West Ham since Scott Parker in 2011. Kudus is expected to wear the No. 20 shirt.

Kudus: A Major Addition to Spurs’ Midfield

Kudus, who joined West Ham from Ajax in 2023, quickly made a name for himself in the Premier League. In 65 appearances, he registered 13 goals and 9 assists, showcasing his dribbling flair, creativity, and eye for goal.

Capable of playing as a central attacking midfielder, right winger, or even a false nine, Kudus offers tactical flexibility and attacking dynamism—qualities Tottenham have sorely lacked.

He is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in European football and is expected to play a central role under Spurs manager Thomas Frank, who continues to revamp his squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Part of Tottenham’s Summer Rebuild

Kudus becomes Tottenham’s fifth major signing of the summer, following:

  • Kota Takai

  • Kevin Danso

  • Mathys Tel

  • And an unannounced goalkeeper, expected to be revealed next week

The signings come as part of a major rebuild following Spurs’ 17th-place finish last season—their worst in Premier League history.

Upcoming Fixtures and Debut

Kudus completed his medical on Thursday and is expected to make his first appearance in a pre-season friendly on July 19, with his Premier League debut likely on August 16 against Burnley.
