Popular Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has stirred controversy online after reacting to a viral video of Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, serving food to guests at an event in Imo State.
In the widely shared clip, Peter Obi is seen carrying trays of food, personally dishing out meals, and engaging warmly with attendees — a gesture that many interpreted as a sign of humility.
However, Seyi Law, known for his political commentary and satire, reposted the video on his X (formerly Twitter) page with a sarcastic remark that quickly caught attention.
“This is the height of humility. Na today I confirm sey Peter Obi really humble,” he wrote, clearly mocking what many viewed as a genuine act of service.

The post drew swift backlash from Obi’s supporters, who flooded the comedian’s comment section to defend the former Anambra State governor. They argued that Obi has consistently demonstrated humility and accessibility both during and after his presidential campaign.
While some netizens joined Seyi Law in suggesting the move may have been performative, others lauded Obi’s down-to-earth attitude, saying the video is further proof of the type of leadership he represents.
This isn’t the first time Seyi Law has made headlines for his political jabs. The comedian, who has previously voiced support for other presidential candidates, continues to remain vocal about national politics — often to mixed reactions from the public.
