Popular Nigerian TikTok content creator Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has shared the deeply personal reason behind his decision to convert from Islam to Christianity, citing traumatic childhood experiences.
During a recent live session with his fans, Peller opened up about the emotional scars he carried from his time at a Quranic school, locally known as ‘Ile Kewu’, where he said he suffered severe physical punishment as a child.
“I’m not a Muslim. I’m a Christian. I go to church,” he stated.
“I was beaten severely when I was young at the Quranic School. That’s why I stopped going.”
According to Peller, the painful experiences he endured during his early religious education ultimately pushed him away from Islam and played a pivotal role in his spiritual transformation.
The emotional revelation comes just days after the TikTok star made headlines over his viral engagement, with his girlfriend confirming their relationship in a trending video online.
A Journey of Faith and Healing
Peller’s candid confession has sparked mixed reactions across social media, with some applauding his honesty while others express concern over the experiences that shaped his decision. For the content creator, however, the shift marks a deeply personal journey of healing, faith, and self-discovery.
As one of the rising voices in Nigeria’s content creation space, Peller’s story adds a new layer of depth to his growing public persona.
