Former Minister of Transportation and ex-Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has strongly cautioned Nigerians against re-electing President Bola Tinubu in 2027, claiming another term under Tinubu would worsen the country’s hardships to fatal levels.
Speaking to members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition in Rivers State, Amaechi stressed the need to mobilize voters early in preparation for the next general elections. He urged the ADC to begin grassroots mobilization and registration across all local government areas and wards in the state.
He accused Rivers State of having a history of manipulating election results and called on the party to resist such practices in the future.
Amaechi warned that voter apathy caused by fears of pre-written results must be addressed and emphasized the importance of participating in the democratic process to unseat the current administration.
“If Nigerians are already struggling in Tinubu’s first term,” Amaechi said, “a second term could be catastrophic — we might all die of hunger. Worse, we may be dead and buried.”
