Chelsea Star Tosin Adarabioyo Visits Lagos Governor Sanwo-Olu Ahead of Youth Football Tournament

Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo continued his homecoming tour on Tuesday with a courtesy visit to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, ahead of a youth football tournament being held in his honour. The event is set to take place on Wednesday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.

Adarabioyo, who recently joined Chelsea and was part of the squad that secured a 3-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain to win the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, is currently in Nigeria to reconnect with his roots and inspire young talents.

During his visit, the Nigeria-born defender met with Governor Sanwo-Olu to discuss football development and youth empowerment through sports. The governor later shared moments from their meeting on Instagram, praising Adarabioyo’s achievements and humility.

“Tosin Adarabioyo, who plays for Chelsea, stopped by to visit while he’s in Nigeria,” Sanwo-Olu wrote. “It’s always inspiring to meet young Nigerians making their mark internationally, who remain grounded and stay connected to home.”

The upcoming youth football tournament in Adarabioyo’s honour is expected to draw young players and scouts, with a focus on identifying and nurturing local talent.
