Your security is my top priority – President Tinubu assures Nigerians

Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace, law, and order across Nigeria, with a strong focus on communities that have suffered from insecurity and violent attacks.

Speaking on Tuesday through National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, at the commissioning of new housing units in Kaduna State, Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria is on the path to recovery.

The housing units, developed in collaboration with the Qatar Charity Organisation, are part of a broader initiative to rebuild and rehabilitate communities devastated by banditry and violent conflict.

“Nigeria is in safe hands, and we will restore law and order. That is an assurance we are giving. It will be done,” the President declared.

Tinubu acknowledged significant improvements in Kaduna, describing the current atmosphere as one of hope and growing stability.

“Recovery is ongoing, and it is clear that fresh air is blowing through Kaduna State. Things are changing,” he added.

He stressed that governance must prioritize the welfare of citizens, especially those displaced or traumatized by violence.

“We are wiping the tears of victims of extreme violence. We are reconciling communities and creating a sense of inclusion for all.”

President Tinubu praised the Kaduna State Government, the NSA’s office, and the Chief of Defence Staff for adopting both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies to address the region’s security issues. He also hailed the Kaduna Peace Model, describing it as a homegrown, intelligence-led approach that fosters sustainable peace.

Among signs of progress, he cited the reopening of the Birnin Gwari Market and the return of displaced farmers to their lands.

“This is a public declaration that Kaduna State is having a new face — a face of reality and rebuilding.”

Addressing victims of violence directly, Tinubu said:

“We heard you. You are victims of extreme violence, but we are with you. Your pain is recognised.”

He thanked Qatar Charity for its support and reiterated his administration’s resolve to implement sustainable, transformative projects.

“This fight against terrorism is a challenge, but addressing it is a top priority under our national security agenda,” Tinubu concluded.
