AC Milan have made a decisive move for Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface, tabling a formal bid for the Nigeria international.
According to Sky Sport journalist Patrick Berger, Boniface has already agreed personal terms with the Rossoneri and is now waiting for Leverkusen to approve the transfer.
The update has also been confirmed by transfer gurus Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano, who both report that the 23-year-old is Milan’s top attacking target this summer.
Boniface, who lit up the Bundesliga in his debut season, has emerged as Milan’s priority after negotiations for Manchester United forward Rasmus Højlund hit a dead end.
Højlund is pushing for a permanent switch, but Milan remains reluctant and even sent an intermediary to London for talks with the player’s father.
With the Højlund deal stalling, Milan is now accelerating their pursuit of Boniface, and reports in Italy suggest an agreement between the clubs could be finalized in the coming days.
