An Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Ogba, Lagos, has discharged Comfort Emmanson, a passenger accused of unruly conduct and assault aboard an Ibom Air flight.
Presiding Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge after the police formally withdrew the case. The charges had alleged that Emmanson disrupted peace on the flight, assaulted a crew member, and acted in a manner likely to breach public order.
Police Prosecutor Oluwabunmi Adeitan told the court the complainant and the airline no longer wished to pursue the matter, prompting the court to approve the withdrawal and order Emmanson’s discharge.
