Popular activist, VeryDarkMan, has reportedly faced a terrifying encounter with kidnappers in Edo State and bravely rescued a bus driver who had been shot during the attack.

In viral footage circulating on social media, the activist was seen traveling in a convoy alongside others, with a patrol van providing escort.

According to reports, the group ran into a crime scene where kidnappers had earlier blocked the highway, abducted passengers from a commercial bus, and shot the driver before fleeing the area.

A visibly agitated VeryDarkMan could be heard shouting, “They don dey run away from kidnappers,” as his convoy advanced cautiously behind the patrol vehicle. Road users in the area were said to be too afraid to proceed even after the gunmen had fled.

The activist continued to yell “No level” as they drove through the deserted spot, before urging his driver to speed forward, shouting “Charge am,” in an attempt to pursue the fleeing attackers—though they were not found.

Upon returning to the scene, VeryDarkMan and his team discovered the injured bus driver, who had been left for dead. Without hesitation, they lifted him into their vehicle and rushed him to a nearby hospital in an effort to save his life.

The incident has sparked widespread reactions across social media, with many Nigerians applauding VeryDarkMan’s courage and quick response. Others, however, criticized what they described as the slow reaction of security agencies in handling the situation.

As of press time, the Edo State Police Command has not released an official statement regarding the incident.
