The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has barred Ms. Comfort Emmanson from flying on any of its member airlines, both domestically and internationally, following her alleged assault on Ibom Air crew members during a Uyo–Lagos flight on August 10, 2025.
The decision comes after viral footage of the incident circulated online. While some clips suggested Emmanson was being assaulted by Ibom Air crew members, AON’s spokesperson, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, maintained that she was the aggressor.
In a statement issued on Monday, Okonkwo condemned the incident and confirmed that Emmanson’s name has been added to the association’s “No Fly” list indefinitely, effectively banning her for life from flying with any AON member airline.
AON stressed that such violent incidents have become too frequent, citing recent cases involving Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1) on a ValueJet flight and Senator Adams Oshiomhole’s unruly behaviour towards Air Peace staff.
The association reiterated its commitment to protecting aviation personnel and passengers, warning that any individual who engages in violence or disruptive conduct would face severe consequences.
