Political commentator Isaac Fayose has shared an ambitious blueprint for boosting Lagos State’s revenue, claiming he could generate ₦2 billion monthly within six months if given the opportunity to govern.
Speaking on The Honest Bunch Podcast, Fayose proposed the creation of a “music city” between Ikate and Ilashe — an exclusive waterfront hub accessible only by boat. He said the project would celebrate Nigerian artists, attract global giants like Google and Netflix, and become a fusion of entertainment and technology.
According to him, the city would feature high-end apartments sold for $1 million each, alongside state-of-the-art facilities for tech innovation. Fayose also pitched a plan to transform “Yahoo boys” into “tech boys” by offering training, funding, and opportunities in legitimate digital industries.
He criticized the current economic system for making it nearly impossible for young people to secure loans without heavy collateral.
“If I’m Lagos State Governor, I can generate two billion in six months… You celebrate our artists, build apartments, bring Google, Netflix. You convert Yahoo boys to tech boys. It’s so easy now,” Fayose said.
“We have trillions, yet our people are poor. You can’t get money from the bank without collateral. Even at the airport, power still goes out.”
Fayose’s vision focuses on harnessing the creative industry and technology as key drivers of Lagos’ economic transformation.
