Popular Nigerian auto dealer and businessman, Ikechukwu Ogbonna—widely known as IVD—has reportedly been arrested.
According to a report by investigative journalist Stella Dimoko Korkus, IVD was apprehended on Friday, August 1, 2025, while allegedly trying to board a flight to Qatar.
Sources claim his arrest is tied to an ongoing domestic violence case surrounding the tragic death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, in 2022.
Bimbo died on October 15, 2022, after suffering fatal burns during a fire incident at their Lekki home. Her death sparked widespread outrage and a demand for justice from the public and women’s rights advocates.
IVD is said to remain in police custody and is expected to appear in court on Monday, August 4, 2025.
Details about the airport where he was arrested have not been disclosed.
