British pop star Jessie J has been hospitalised due to a serious infection and fluid build-up in her lungs, just six weeks after undergoing surgery for early-stage breast cancer.
The “Price Tag” singer shared the health scare on her Instagram Stories, revealing that she was back in the same ward where she had her cancer surgery.
“How I spent the last 24 hours,” she wrote alongside a photo of an IV in her arm. “Not expected or planned. I had and still have symptoms that pointed towards a blood clot on the lung. IT IS NOT A BLOOD CLOT THANK GOD.”
Despite struggling to breathe properly, the 37-year-old discharged herself from the hospital over the weekend, admitting: “I hate being in hospital.” Jessie will now continue treatment as an outpatient.
She used the moment to reflect on her recovery journey:
“A reminder to myself to slow tf down… This isn’t a speedy recovery. And it isn’t meant to be.”
The mother of one, who shares a two-year-old son with basketball player Chanan Colman, also maintained her sense of humour.
“I finally got a diagnosis of what’s been going on, apparently it’s called… Dramatic?” Jessie J joked.
While Jessie J continues to recover, she remains upbeat, sarcastic, and determined to take things one day at a time.
