Jessie J has revealed she will need another operation following her recent surgery for early-stage breast cancer.
The Price Tag hitmaker, who announced in June that she had undergone treatment, was readmitted to hospital over the weekend due to an infection and a “little fluid” on her lungs.
In an update shared on Friday, the British singer told fans that despite the upcoming procedure, she has no plans to pause her music career or her role as a mother to her two-year-old son, Sky.
“I can rest, parent AND release new music,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories.
“I didn’t leave a major label after 18 years to be scared to re write the rules to fit around my life / health and just make it realistic on what I can deliever (sic).”
The 37-year-old listed her priorities, writing:
“Another surgery needed this year. I can do it. Raising a toddler. I can do it. Releasing new music. I can do it.”
Jessie J added,
“It will look different to what I had planned but that’s life, things change and either we panic and get mad that it isn’t what is was going to be, or we ADAPT.”
Jessie J explained that she doesn’t want to hold back her new music while waiting for the “perfect time,” preferring to share it with fans now.
In a follow-up post, the Domino star declared she can be “a creative artist, present mother and healing patient, all at the same time,” alongside a magic wand emoji.
The singer did not reveal details about the nature or timing of the upcoming operation.
