American socialite and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian has officially taken the final step in her years-long journey to becoming a lawyer by sitting for the California bar exam.
According to reports, Kim completed the two-day test in late July. Widely considered one of the most challenging exams in the United States, the California bar consists of five one-hour essays, a 90-minute performance test, and 200 multiple-choice questions.
While most candidates sit for the exam in large convention centers, Kim is believed to have taken the test in a private setting under special proctoring arrangements to avoid unnecessary attention.
This marks a significant milestone in her unconventional path to law. Rather than attending law school, Kim pursued the California apprenticeship route, studying under experienced attorneys. She passed the “baby bar” exam in December 2021 after four attempts and officially completed her six-year apprenticeship on May 21, 2025.
To celebrate, she hosted a small graduation ceremony with close family and friends.
Despite a hectic lifestyle filled with TV shoots, global travel, and high-profile appearances — including attending Jeff Bezos’ wedding in June — Kim committed herself to bar prep.
She was most recently spotted in Venice, Italy, where she received an award for her criminal justice reform efforts and delivered a speech.
The pressure now mounts, as the California bar is notoriously difficult, with only 53.8% of candidates passing the July 2024 sitting.
Kim and thousands of other hopefuls are expected to receive their results on November 7, while the State Bar of California will release official results publicly on November 9 at 6 p.m.
