Oscar-winning comedian and actress Mo’Nique has reignited her long-standing feud with filmmaker Tyler Perry, accusing him of spreading lies that derailed her career after the success of Precious.
Speaking on the Outlaws with TS Madison podcast, Mo’Nique claimed Perry’s actions cost her over a decade of opportunities in Hollywood.
“Tyler Perry told a lie on me and that lie cost me 12 years of my career,” she alleged, adding that she will not stop speaking out until he makes it right.
Mo’Nique further called him out directly, saying:
“Tyler Perry, you cost my family millions, and millions and millions of dollars. And it is a beautiful thing when you tip somebody $3,000, it’s a beautiful thing when you give somebody $400,000 because their house burned down. Those are good deeds however, you know what you did to a black woman named Mo’Nique.”
The comedian emphasized that while Perry’s charitable gestures are commendable, they do not erase the harm she claims he caused. She insists that she wants public accountability and has vowed not to back down until it is delivered.
Mo’Nique’s explosive remarks have once again placed the spotlight on her fallout with Hollywood heavyweights, a controversy that has trailed her since her 2010 Oscar win.
