Nigerian singer Omah Lay has accused fellow music star Rema of stealing the concept for his album, sharing alleged chat screenshots to back up his claim.
In a past interview, Omah Lay had hinted that an unnamed artist took his ideas after he shared them privately, later releasing an album based on those concepts. He said the incident forced him to return to the studio and rework his own project.

Now, new screenshots circulating online — alleged by multiple news outlets to be from Omah Lay’s burner account — appear to show a 2023 conversation between the two artistes. In the chat, they discussed collaborating on a fresh sound, exchanging creative ideas and making promises to work together.

Fans have since been debating the authenticity of the screenshots and the nature of the alleged idea theft, with neither Omah Lay nor Rema issuing an official public statement at the time of this report.
