Unoma Akpabio Defends Husband Amidst Sexual Harassment Allegations by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan

Unoma Akpabio, wife of the Senate President and President of the Senators’ Wives Association of Nigeria (SEWAN), has led other senators’ wives in mourning the death of Mrs. Nelda Mohammed, mother-in-law of Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau.

In a statement released on Monday and signed by Mrs Akpabio on behalf of SEWAN, the women expressed deep sorrow over what they described as an “irreparable loss.”

“We, the Senators’ Wives Association of Nigeria, extend our heartfelt condolences on the passing of your beloved mother. This irreparable loss undoubtedly brings immense grief to you and your family,” the statement read.

The group also extended their sympathies to Senator Barau and the entire bereaved family, praying for the peaceful repose of the deceased.

“May the memories of your mother’s love, wisdom, and legacy bring you strength and comfort during this difficult time.
We stand in solidarity with you, sharing in your sorrow and offering our deepest sympathies.
May Almighty Allah grant her Jannatul Firdaus.”

Mrs Mohammed’s passing has continued to draw messages of condolence from political figures, associates, and sympathisers of the Barau family.
