Nigerian singer, Raoul Njeng-Njeng, better known as Skales, has revealed that his career turnaround came after a heartfelt prayer at the Shiloh programme of the Living Faith Church, Winners’ Chapel, in 2013.
At the time, Skales was experiencing a setback following the expiration of his contract with Banky W’s Empire Mate Entertainment (EME). He recalled that his colleague, Timaya, encouraged him to attend Shiloh, where they were instructed to write down seven requests to God.
According to the singer, he wrote one request repeatedly: a global hit song.
Skales said he believes that prayer birthed his 2015 smash hit ‘Shake Body’, which has now regained international attention after Barcelona star Lamine Yamal and some of his teammates danced to it.
On his X handle, the singer expressed gratitude:
“In 2013 @timayatimaya took me to Shiloh and we were told to write down 7 things we are praying for and I wrote a song that will take me to the ends of the world 7 times … fast forward till today he gave me a divine unending song … when they think it’s over another thing pops up about this damn song… Lord Jesus thank you.”
