Popular TikTok creator, Peller, has expressed frustration over what he described as excessive taxation by the Lagos State Government.
In a recent livestream with singer Peruzzi, Peller revealed that the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) demanded ₦36 million from him as income tax.
“Taskforce said I should pay ₦36 million for tax. I don’t have anything. I just came into the limelight last year,” he lamented.
Peruzzi, in response, asked why he had not paid his taxes and reminded him of the legal obligation to do so, noting that his own tax payments were even higher. He advised him to settle the bill to avoid jail time.
Peller, however, maintained that the tax bill was outrageous, alleging that the government has never supported him during his TikTok live sessions and is now targeting him because he flaunted his assets and disclosed his earnings online.
While Peruzzi urged him to plead for more time to pay, the Tiktoker insisted that his income comes solely from social media and not from Nigeria.
