The California Court of Appeals has denied key parts of Tory Lanez’s latest attempt to challenge his conviction in the 2020 shooting of rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
Lanez’s legal team had argued that the trial was flawed, citing his driver’s absence from the witness stand and a new statement from a security guard for Kelsey Nicole Harris. However, the court rejected those filings, meaning those specific claims will not move forward.
Despite the setback, Lanez’s main appeal is still active. The 33-year-old rapper-singer was sentenced to 10 years in prison last year after being found guilty on three felony counts.
While Lanez continues to fight for his freedom, Megan Thee Stallion has remained publicly silent on this latest development.
The ruling marks yet another dramatic twist in a high-profile case that has drawn widespread attention since the shooting incident first made headlines in 2020.
