Acclaimed filmmaker Tyler Perry has reignited hopes for a third installment of his beloved ‘Why Did I Get Married?’ film series — and fans are buzzing with anticipation.
Perry, who has previously toyed with the idea of returning to the hit franchise, set social media ablaze when he posted a surprising update that many believe confirms ‘Why Did I Get Married 3’ is officially in development.
Tyler Perry Hints at New Sequel
Taking to his official Instagram account, Perry shared a photo of what appears to be a draft script sitting on a table. Alongside the image, he simply wrote:
“I’m just gonna sit this right here!”
Though brief, the cryptic caption was enough to send fans into a frenzy. What’s more, Perry tagged original cast members including Janet Jackson, Jill Scott, Tasha Smith, Richard T. Jones, and Michael Jai White — all of whom starred in the first two films.
A Long-Awaited Sequel?
The first two entries in the franchise, Why Did I Get Married (2007) and Why Did I Get Married Too? (2010), were both box office hits and fan favorites, exploring the complexities of marriage, friendship, and betrayal.
While Perry has previously wavered on the possibility of a third film, this latest post seems to be the most concrete hint yet that the story could continue.
