Popular Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has landed in the hospital following intense online criticism.
The actress recently came under fire after she called out veteran actor and movie director Afeez Owo, who is also the husband of actress Mide Martins. Owo had shared his thoughts about Wumi’s movie character in an interview, but her response online sparked backlash.
Many social media users sided with Afeez, insisting that his remarks were fair, and heavily criticised Wumi for dragging him publicly.
In a new update shared on Thursday morning, Wumi Toriola posted a photo from a hospital bed and hinted at the toll the situation has taken on her. “Internet dragging and ICU are siblings,” she wrote.
She further addressed her fans in the comment section, expressing regret and promising to do better. “I have heard you all, will do better next time. Wish me quick recovery,” she added.
