Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has dismissed Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko from her role as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, in what the government described as a minor shake-up within the State Executive Council.
The announcement was made on Monday, September 29, 2025, through a statement issued by Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor.
“In that respect, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Hajiya Zainab-Baban Takko, has been relieved of her appointment with immediate effect,” the statement read.
Governor Bala Mohammed expressed gratitude for Baban-Takko’s contributions during her tenure and wished her success in her future endeavours.
The decision comes just days after the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission dismissed two senior government officials over allegations of forgery, adding to the wave of recent shake-ups within the state’s leadership.
