Cardi B got emotional while reflecting on the overwhelming reception to her latest album, Am I The Drama?, during a recent Instagram Live session with fans.
The long-anticipated project, which follows her 2018 multi-Platinum debut Invasion of Privacy, has dominated social media chatter—not only for its fiery diss tracks aimed at Bia and JT, but also for the love and praise it has received more broadly.
Fighting back tears, Cardi B expressed her gratitude to fans for embracing the album:
“I just want to say is that what I’m most grateful about is how good people are receiving my new music. I have seen so many beautiful compliments, and that means so much to me coming from you guys because I put a lot of work into this album. And I had a lot of feelings doing this album. So for y’all to say all this beautiful stuff about the album, it’s getting to the point that I don’t know which song I should do a music video for next, because you have been receiving it so well. And that sh*t means so much to me. And I just want to say thank you so much.”
She went on to note that while strong numbers were expected given the album’s hype, the heartfelt feedback was what truly touched her:
“The numbers are going amazing, but it’s expected for the numbers to be good because it’s such an anticipated release. But for people to say such beautiful things about my art, that sh*t means a lot.”
