Media mogul and politician Dele Momodu has hosted the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, at his residence in Accra, Ghana.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the 65-year-old publisher shared a video showing him welcoming Obi at the airport before driving him to his home.
“Earlier this morning, I welcomed the former Labour Party presidential candidate and former Anambra State Governor, His Excellency Peter Obi, to the city of Accra, Ghana, and we headed to my home for breakfast,” Momodu wrote in the caption.
While the details of their private discussion were not disclosed, the meeting has drawn public attention as part of Momodu’s recent engagements with prominent Nigerian figures.
Just a day earlier, Momodu also hosted investigative journalist David Hundeyin and his wife at the same residence. Describing Hundeyin as “a great writer,” he noted that their discussions centered on Africa and its future.
Hundeyin, who has lived in Ghana for some years, is in exile after facing security threats in Nigeria. He is widely known for his investigative reports on politics, security, and governance.
Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation International Magazine, is a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and contested the party’s presidential ticket in 2022.
Peter Obi, 63, ran as the Labour Party’s flagbearer in the 2023 presidential election, finishing third, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
