Country music icon Dolly Parton has announced the postponement of six concerts scheduled for December at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, citing ongoing health concerns.
In a heartfelt Instagram message to fans, the 78-year-old singer revealed that doctors advised her to undergo a few medical procedures, jokingly calling it her “100,000-mile check-up.”
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” Parton wrote.
“I wouldn’t be able to give you the performance that you deserve to see. I want to be at my best for you.”
The Jolene singer reassured fans that her condition is not overly serious and emphasized she has no plans to quit music.
“Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” she added.
“But I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures in life.”
The shows, originally slated for December 4 to 13, would have marked Parton’s first Las Vegas performances since 1993.
Dolly Parton signed off by thanking fans for their love and understanding: “I love you and thank you for understanding.”
