Ed Sheeran has shut down speculation that he’s permanently relocating to the United States.
Rumors spread after the singer joked on The 2 Johnnies Podcast about moving across the Atlantic, noting that it felt unusual compared to stars leaving the US for other countries.
“I’m just about to move to America,” he said at the time. “I’m going on tour there for a while, and I have a family, so I can’t dip in and out. We’re going and settling there.”
But ED Sheeran later clarified on Instagram Stories that he isn’t leaving the UK.
“Way easier to clear up stuff on here,” he wrote. “I’m not moving, I’m going on tour with my family and relocating to the continent I’m touring on. Don’t wanna commute from London to San Diego, obvz.”
He also dismissed reports linking the supposed move to tax reasons.
“This isn’t a tax thing, it’s USA, not UAE. I’ll always pay tax in UK coz that’s where I live,” ed Sheeran stressed.
