Emergency Rule: Fubara makes first public appearance after suspension in Rivers

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has returned to Port Harcourt, the state capital, following his reinstatement by President Bola Tinubu.

Fubara touched down at the Port Harcourt International Airport at about 11:50 a.m. on Friday, where he was welcomed by a large crowd of supporters who had gathered at the VIP wing in anticipation of his arrival.

The development comes just over 24 hours after President Tinubu officially ended the six-month emergency rule in Rivers State.

Meanwhile, the state House of Assembly resumed sitting on Thursday. Despite the excitement in Port Harcourt, Fubara did not immediately proceed to the Government House, where hundreds of supporters had assembled to receive him.
