Gov. Uzodinma: “I Remain Accountable for My Actions and Inactions”
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma has reaffirmed his commitment to accountability and credible leadership, declaring that he takes full responsibility for the actions and inactions of his administration.
The Governor made the remarks during a church service at the Government House Chapel, held to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve, Uzodinma emphasized his pledge to provide leadership geared toward the welfare of Imo citizens. He also underscored Nigeria’s vast wealth in natural resources, lamenting that the nation is still struggling to harness them effectively for economic recovery and improved livelihoods.
According to him, the state government is determined to break away from unproductive practices of the past:
“I urge all to agree to move forward and not recline on the past. The old order is gone. They are gradually and incrementally giving way to the new order. We must work. We must be busy. An idle mind is the devil’s workshop. If you must be tempted; remain idle. A busy mind is a productive mind.”
Governor Uzodinma stressed that a new approach is necessary to transform governance and improve the lives of the people, noting that citizens cannot continue to “suffer in the midst of plenty.”
