Nigeria was like a barren woman looking for a child before President Bola Tinubu came – Hope Uzodinma

Uzodinma

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, says President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms are beginning to yield positive results, even as many Nigerians continue to face hardship.

Speaking at the APC South-West stakeholders meeting in Lagos, Uzodinma likened Nigeria’s condition before Tinubu assumed office to “a barren woman” in need of help.

“Nigeria was like a barren woman looking for a child before President Bola Tinubu came,” he said. “He introduced the fertility drugs needed. Yes, they came with pains, but we are seeing results. We are not after excuses. We are interested in results.”

Representing the collective stance of APC governors, Uzodinma thanked Nigerians for their resilience amid the economic difficulties caused by recent policy shifts. According to him, the reforms are tough but necessary for long-term progress.

Turning to the rise in kidnappings and terrorist attacks nationwide, the governor expressed strong optimism that Nigeria will eventually defeat bandits and insurgents. He questioned the sources of funding for criminal groups and emphasized the need for unity and political will.

“God made Tinubu possible. Of late we have seen insecurity and banditry increase. Who are the people funding these criminalities? Progressive governors are united. Nigeria must win,” he said.
