Kwankwaso Says NNPP Can Win 2027 Presidency, Speaks on Unity Amid APC Defection Rumours

NNPP to Kwankwaso

National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed confidence that the party has what it takes to win the 2027 presidential election, provided its members remain united and committed to the cause.

Kwankwaso made the remarks on Tuesday during an interactive session with NNPP stakeholders in Cross River State, where he also commended the party’s efforts during the 2023 elections.

“Let me thank you for what you did during the last election in 2023. I urge you to work harder so that by the grace of God our party, the NNPP, will win elections in Cross River and Nigeria. Ensure unity within the party, especially now that we have a new big office in Calabar and many local government areas across the state,” he said.

The former Kano State governor stressed that unity and hard work would be critical if the NNPP is to secure victory in 2027, while reaffirming his trust in the party’s leadership.

Defection Speculations to APC

Kwankwaso’s comments come amid widespread speculation that he may consider defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the next general elections.

Reports suggest that the former presidential candidate could work with President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Adding fuel to the speculation, Kwankwaso’s close ally and House of Representatives member, Abdulmumin Jibrin, recently hinted that a possible move to the APC was not off the table.
