Miley Cyrus Nears Completion of Malibu Home Rebuild Seven Years After Wildfire

Miley Cyrus is preparing to return to her Malibu home, nearly seven years after it was destroyed in the devastating 2018 Woolsey Fire.

The Wrecking Ball star revealed in an interview with Pamela Anderson for CR Fashion Book that the lengthy rebuilding process is finally coming to an end:

“I lost my house in the Woolsey Fire and have been rebuilding now for the last five years. It looks like it’s going to be all ready for me in the next couple of weeks. I’m so excited.”

Miley Cyrus, now 32, lived in the Malibu property with then-partner Liam Hemsworth before the fire destroyed it in November 2018. At the time, she was filming Black Mirror in South Africa. The couple married a month later but separated by August 2019, finalizing their divorce in January 2020.

The singer has frequently reflected on the fire’s impact, even calling the loss of her home “the biggest blessing” of her life.

“Losing everything and being able to rebuild… when my house burned down, a lot of my relationships also burned down, and that again just led me to such magic and to have so much gratitude,” she said earlier this year during a screening of her visual album Something Beautiful.

With the rebuild nearly finished, Miley Cyrus says she is ready to start fresh and reclaim the Malibu property that once marked such a pivotal chapter in her life.
