Actress and executive producer Nomzamo Mbatha is overflowing with gratitude as Shaka Ilembe Season 2 officially wrapped on 31 August 2025. Taking to social media, Mbatha thanked fans and the production team for their unwavering support throughout the 12-week run of the acclaimed historical drama.
“Final episode tonight … You’ve stayed with us for 12 weeks feeling every feeling – rage, inspiration, love, redemption, pride, frustration, adventure, cinematic television achievement, grief – TRIUMPH. Thank you for your love MZANSI. Season Two was hard work and every single person involved in cast and crew put their hearts and livers into every frame we offered. Our well of gratitude does not run dry,” she wrote.
Mbatha, who not only stars as Queen Nandi but also serves as the series’ executive producer, emphasized the magnitude of the project, noting that over 20,000 jobs have been created since Season 1.
