Serie A: “I Won’t Beg Lookman to Play” – Atalanta Boss Juric

Lookman scores hat-trick as Atalanta defeats Leverkusen 3-0 TO WIN THE EUROPA LEAGUE

Atalanta manager, Ivan Juric, has made it clear that he will not plead with Ademola Lookman to feature for the club following the forward’s transfer saga.

Although Lookman has been reinstated to first-team training, he will not play in Sunday’s Serie A clash against Lecce.

The 27-year-old Nigerian international had attempted to force a move away during the summer by submitting a transfer request and skipping training. However, Atalanta rejected multiple bids for him, including offers from Inter Milan.

Speaking ahead of the game, Juric said:

“This is an unpleasant, difficult situation.
With Lookman, I have a very good relationship, but I don’t have to beg him to play.
On the contrary, we are Atalanta, and we represent the city.
We need what Atalanta represents: work, humility, they are different values, I do not have to pray to anyone. We are all convinced that Atalanta needs strong values on a human level.”
