Nigerian activist and social commentator Martins Vincent Otse, better known as Verydarkman, is taking his activism from online spaces to the streets with the launch of a monthly community service initiative.
Announcing the project on Instagram, he revealed that his supporters, widely known as “The Ratel Movement,” will kick off the program on Saturday, November 29, 2025, and continue every last Saturday of the month.
According to Verydarkman, the initiative is designed to move beyond social media advocacy and create tangible impact in local communities. Planned activities include:
-
Clearing gutters and ensuring proper drainage
-
General environmental sanitation
-
Painting schools and community spaces
-
Offering other forms of practical assistance to improve daily living conditions
He explained that the project aims to inspire patriotism and civic responsibility, reminding citizens that they play an active role in shaping the environment and society they live in.
By turning his influence into grassroots action, Verydarkman says the movement will “go beyond talking” and prove that collective responsibility can bring visible change.
