Cardi B has once again silenced her critics with the release of her long-awaited sophomore album, ‘Am I the Drama,’ which officially dropped on September 19, 2025.
The Grammy-winning rapper, who faced years of anticipation and doubt following her 2018 debut ‘Invasion of Privacy,’ delivered a project that not only met but surpassed expectations — both critically and commercially.
According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), ‘Am I the Drama’ made history as the fastest album to be certified Platinum this year. The 23-track body of work also stormed to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking the biggest opening week for any woman of color in 2025.
But the success didn’t stop there.
Several songs from the project made an impressive impact on the Billboard Hot 100, with 16 tracks debuting simultaneously — a record-breaking achievement that makes Cardi B the first female rapper to hold that many concurrent entries on the chart.
Adding to her chart dominance, Cardi’s collaboration with Pop icon Janet Jackson on the single ‘Principal’ also made waves, earning both artists a spot in the Hot 100 record books.
With ‘Am I the Drama,’ Cardi B has not only reaffirmed her status as a powerhouse in hip-hop but also proven that her reign in music remains unshaken, seven years after her debut album broke barriers for female rappers worldwide.
