Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has reacted to allegations that he harassed a woman after she turned down his romantic advances.
The rapper, in a statement shared via his Instagram Story, denied the accusations, describing them as false and part of a campaign to damage his reputation.
Recall that a law firm, Bristol & Mortglass C.S., released a statement on Sunday alleging that their client suffered emotional distress and ongoing online harassment from the artiste after rejecting his romantic overtures in December 2024.
Responding, Blaqbonez maintained that he had done nothing wrong and claimed that he had been a victim of prolonged bullying, online attacks, and intimidation within the music industry.
He wrote:
“Over the past few days, several false and deeply distressing allegations have been circulated online about me. These claims are not only untrue, they are part of a sustained pattern of harassment and intimidation that I have endured for months from certain individuals within the music industry.
“For nearly a year, I have stayed silent and endured repeated bullying, physical assaults, and online attacks, believing that the truth would speak for itself. There comes a point when silence allows falsehoods to spread unchecked. So I am speaking now: I have done nothing wrong.
“At the heart of these stories lies a personal relationship from my past, one that ended respectfully and without conflict. That private chapter has now become entangled with professional rivalries in the music industry.
“What began as a personal matter between two adults has been pulled into a broader feud, reshaped and used as ammunition in a campaign to discredit me publicly. The accusations being pushed are deliberate fabrications designed to damage my name, my work, and everything I’ve built.”
The rapper added that he is cooperating fully with authorities to establish the truth and is taking legal steps to protect himself against what he called defamation and harassment.
Blaqbonez concluded by reaffirming his commitment to his music and personal integrity, urging people to remember that false accusations can ruin lives.
