Drake may be preparing to roll out his highly anticipated ICEMAN album, but he’s not finished pushing his latest project with PARTYNEXTDOOR. The duo’s R&B-driven collaboration, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, has officially been submitted for Grammy consideration, potentially setting the stage for a high-profile showdown at the 2026 ceremony.
As spotted by Kurrco on Twitter, Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR entered the album into the Album of the Year and Best Progressive R&B Album categories. Their track “SOMEBODY LOVES ME” is up for consideration in several major fields, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Melodic Rap Performance, and Best Rap Song. Another cut, “SOMETHING ABOUT YOU”, was also submitted for Best Melodic Rap Performance.
Drake, a five-time Grammy winner from 55 career nominations, has a complicated history with the Recording Academy. His wins include Best Rap Album for Take Care (2013), two trophies for “Hotline Bling” (2017), Best Rap Song for “God’s Plan” (2018), and Best Melodic Rap Performance for “WAIT FOR U” alongside Future and Tems (2023).
This year could prove especially intriguing as Drake’s submissions may go head-to-head with longtime rival Kendrick Lamar, who reportedly entered a massive 11 categories with his album GNX, select tracks, and collaborations with SZA, Playboi Carti, and Clipse.
The potential clash recalls one of the most enduring jabs of their feud: Drake’s mockery of Kendrick’s Grammy dominance. With both artists potentially competing in marquee categories like Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Song, and Best Melodic Rap Performance, fans may get a new chapter in their ongoing rivalry.
Interestingly, Drake and PND did not submit “NOKIA”, a fan favorite. Some speculate Drake wanted to keep the Grammy spotlight shared equally with PARTYNEXTDOOR under their joint project.
If the nominations align, the 2026 Grammys could become one of the most talked-about face-offs in rap history.
