Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel says he’s open to having Donald Trump appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! — even after years of public jabs between the two.
Speaking at Bloomberg Screentime on Wednesday (October 8), the Emmy-winning comedian revealed that he’d welcome the opportunity to interview the former U.S. president.
“I’d love to have Trump on the show, for sure,” Kimmel said.
However, Trump’s camp wasn’t impressed by the offer.
Trump’s Team Fires Back
Responding to Kimmel’s comments, White House representative Abigail Jackson took a jab at the host while speaking to Page Six.
“Reacting to anything Jimmy Kimmel says would require me to watch his show, and I have much more entertaining things to do — like watch paint dry,” she quipped.
Their feud reignited earlier this year after Trump mocked Kimmel’s brief suspension from ABC, writing:
“Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible.”
Kimmel Defends His Commentary
Despite the tension, Kimmel insists his political takes come with the job.
“My role is to discuss the big stories of the day,” he explained, noting that his commentary isn’t personal but part of his duty as a talk show host.
Whether Trump will accept the invitation remains uncertain, but fans are already imagining what would surely be one of late-night TV’s most talked-about interviews.
