Odumodublvck Claims Envy Fuels Criticism of His Rap Skills
Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has alleged that some of his colleagues in the music industry are jealous of his success.
Speaking on the Toronto Ada’s Room podcast, the “Pity This Boy” crooner dismissed claims that he is not lyrically gifted, insisting the criticism comes from envy rather than talent comparison.
“In Nigeria, they say that my rap is not good, but I’m the most featured rapper by international artists,” Odumodublvck said. “I think it’s a thing of envy because I sing my hooks, my songs are hits, and I get more bookings than them.”
The rapper argued that despite perceptions about his lyrical ability, he has achieved greater international recognition than any other Nigerian rapper.
He described the envy as “deep,” especially among those who believe they are more talented, but said he remains focused on his craft and his growing fan base.
“We pay no mind to that. We just continue pushing for those that believe — let them continue to tune in. It’s very unfortunate for the people on the other side because this thing is not going to stop soon,” he added.
Odumodublvck also challenged his critics to prove their superiority through results, urging them to sell more records and fill more shows if they believe they are better rappers.
