Nicki Minaj Cancels Upcoming Album, Calls Out Jay-Z in Cryptic Tweets

Nicki Minaj has shocked her fans after announcing that she will no longer release her upcoming album — and appeared to point fingers at Jay-Z in a series of cryptic posts on X (formerly Twitter).

The “Pound The Alarm” rapper had earlier revealed that her sixth studio album would arrive in March 2026, but she has now scrapped the project entirely.

In her unexpected announcement, Nicki wrote:

“OK, I’m not going to put out the album anymore. No more music. Hope you’re happy now @sc. Bye, Barbz. Love you for life.”

The tweet directly tagged Jay-Z’s handle (@sc), sparking widespread speculation about tension between the two music moguls.

Hours before that message, Nicki hinted that unseen forces were working against her music career, writing:

“They don’t want me to put out music. Me winning makes them feel like they lost. They’re right. However, it didn’t have to be this way.”

The rapper went on to accuse industry figures of trying to control her finances and career trajectory:

“So they keep wanting to take or stop my money simply b/c narcissists believe what you work hard for belongs to them. Fuming b/c they can’t siphon anymore energy, money, blessings, love, grace, joy, PEACE… the culture. No successful tours. Just vibes & payola. CasiNO.” [sic]

Fans believe the @sc tag refers to Jay-Z, whose Roc Nation company manages several top artists. Nicki also mentioned Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez in other posts, seemingly confirming her grievances with the label.

The development comes just days after Nicki reignited her long-running feud with Cardi B. The two have traded shots online for years, and Cardi’s latest album, Am I The Drama?, debuting at No. 1 on the charts, appears to have fueled fresh tension between the rivals.

As of now, neither Jay-Z nor Roc Nation has responded to Nicki Minaj’s claims.
