Reality TV star and former Big Brother Naija winner, Phyna, has spoken out following reports of a heated altercation at a hotel in Abuja, which went viral and sparked widespread reactions on social media.
A video shared online showed Phyna being restrained and allegedly assaulted before being escorted out of the hotel — a scene that quickly drew outrage from fans and eyewitnesses.
In response, Phyna released her own video to clarify the incident, insisting that the viral clip misrepresented what actually happened. According to her, she was attacked from behind and only defended herself during the altercation.
“Who I beat dey hospital, dem carry touts come fight and people to record. I was attacked from behind on my way out—dem even crop the video just to twist story say dem beat me,” Phyna said.
The outspoken reality star further alleged that the woman involved in the fight had stolen from her multiple times, including the day of the incident. She claimed that while trying to confront the alleged thief, things escalated into a physical brawl.
Phyna revealed that the woman is currently receiving treatment in the hospital, adding that once she recovers, she will be facing legal consequences for theft and assault.
“The video circulating is a video of after the fight and I was heading to the station. The girl in question brought touts to the hotel; the girl keeps stealing from me. She stole again yesterday, I caught her, and while we were trying to sort it, it led to a fight. Make una pray make she sha survive — when she wakes up, she go chill for prison,” she added.
Despite the controversy, Phyna maintained a defiant tone, expressing no remorse over the confrontation while insisting she acted in self-defense.
As of now, no official statement has been released by law enforcement or the hotel management regarding the incident.
